Sad about Cory Lidle

Sean told me about former Phillies pitcher Cory Lidle's tragic death in his plane along with his flight instructor. The scene of the crash was a haunting sight, especially since it was exactly 5 yr and one month from 9-11. You never want to see any burning building from a plane accident 40 stories up. Many people, mostly firefighters were injured. The local ABC sports reporter flew with Cory down in Florida this past February before he was traded to the Yankees. She said he did a great job and loved flying. Indeed a tragedy. He left behind his wife and 6 yr old son.

Is anyone else sick and tired of all the freakin' campaign ads? The ones from Rick Santorum here in PA are really annoying. I guess he's scared because Bob Casey is the son of a former PA governor Robert Casey.

My mom has a connection with Ed Rendell, the present governor running for re-election. She use to 'date' Ed's wife's uncle! Mom's been to the Rendell house too. She's met him a few times and said he was just how you see him on the news, very down-to-earth. Said he could get her tickets to anything-darn, she never asked him for any.

I heard that on the news today and was so saddened by it. It's a miracle no one in the building got hurt but very sad that he and his passenger died:-( We are going to be having elections in November also and the campaigning is just starting...grrrrrrr!

Ed Rendell has a special place in my heart. :) When I lived in Philly, he lived in the next town over and when he was mayor, he was always visible at the kids' events all over town. He even got involved in quite a few ball games and swim meets. He really is down to earth and did a lot for the city when he was Mayor.

I'm so sad about Cory too :-( Even though I am a Red Sox fan - LOL! Seriously, very sad.

Campaign ads! Oh gosh, Massachusetts has one where the democrat is an attorney. The incumbent (republican) is running an ad about how this dem defended a confessed cop killer. Killer got life in prison, but dem candidate was able to argue for parole for him. So the ad ends with something like, "Attorneys have the right to defend anyone. Even a killer. But do we want one running our state?" Sounds like she is trying to make it sound like is a killer, not a lawyer! Geesh. Come on November, let's get this over with! (PS - if I still lived in Massachusetts and didn't just work there, I would not be voting for that incumbent).

Yes, I am SICK of them; especially those recoreded telephone messages. I have been getting one almost every night.
Do you get those in PA?
    They should be illegal.

I, too, am very sad about the death of Cory. I had just watched him pitch against the Tigers last week.
