Brian the snake charmer

No snake was harmed in the writing of this post. : )
Brian was tying up the tomatoes yesterday and found this guy under a pile of leaves out in the veggie patch. We are taking down an old fence and there are probably plenty of snake hideaways. Brian just had to show me knowing how much I love snakes. Behind 'them' is the doomed hollyhock.

    Ewwwwwwwwwwwww
    I don't like those either.
I don't think we have that kind here.
It doesn't really matter what kind though, as I don't like any of them!

Yuk - wouldn't fancy meeting that in my garden! Snakes to me are totally fascinating behind glass at a zoo ... but definitely not face to face in nature!!

Looks to me like some sort of gopher snake, but you're too far east for that, maybe a northern brown snake?

Send him to me, he can eat my chipmunks.

Yes, Dianne, please tell us you let the poor thing go! I don't really fancy seeing them up too close, but know they help keep the pests away. :D
