I was raised in Penna and still live about 1/2 hour from where I was born. I have always loved children and wanted to be a teacher or a children's book author/illustrator. Maybe the later now. I'm also thinking about cross stitch design. I love photography and photo editing-esp lots of nature shots. This blog banner and profile photo were designed by me using PSP7.

Penguin Power!
If you love nature and animals, you'll have to see this 85 minute National Geographic movie on the life of the Emperor Penguin and what they endure just to survive. The babies are so cute! And before they are born, the dads spend a lot of time holding the eggs up against their bellies to keep them warm. Amazing photography! If you click on any of these, they make great wallpaper.
I heard recently that this is actually why birds often mate for life - either the males share the egg-sitting chores, or they bring food to the females while they're brooding ... and this reliance on each other creates a bond that is missing in most animals (who mate, and move on). Interesting, huh?
